Cherry Blossom Festival at Descanso Gardens March 12 - 13


Welcome springtime with this annual celebration of Japanese culture and the beautiful flowering trees in the landscape. Enjoy music, origami, food and guided garden walks. Activities free with admission unless noted.

Cherry Tree Sale

Origami

Performance by June Kuramoto
Both days | 1-2:30 pm | Under the Oaks Theater
June Kuramoto performs on the koto, the national instrument of Japan. A classically trained musician, she is a founding member of the Japanese-American fusion ensemble Hiroshima.

Shakuhachi in the Garden
Both days | 3:00 - 5:30 pm
Enjoy the sounds of Japanese flute as musician George Abe wanders and plays throughout the garden.
