Last week the kids and I had the chance to go to Ridemakerz, a store that allows children to create their own customized remote control cars. Think Build-a-Bear for the older set.

It is A really fun and interactive concept. First, the kids choose the shelf for their car. Then they can choose the colors of the wheels and rims that they would like. There are all kinds of options, including rims that light up as the car drives. There are also a myriad of choices for customizing the cars, including spoilers, grills, light-up engines, and stickers.

After the kids have made all their choices, they are taken to a station where they can actually put the car together themselves.

My boys love using the power tools. My girls loved the sheets of stickers that they could decorate their car with.

I love how their final creations represent each of their personalities. These cars have already provided us with a ton of fun play time in the front yard.

A big thanks to Ridemakerz for the fun experience. If you are looking for a an interactive Christmas gift that will provide some fun memories as well as independent play, I definitely recommend Ridemakerz.
